Armenia should early remove flaws revealed after parliamentary elections-OSCE secretary general

OSCE Secretary General Lamberto Zaner attached great importance to early removal of the flaws at the parliamentary elections, revealed by OSCE / ODIHR election observation mission, for enhancing public trust.

YEREVAN, July 12. /ARKA/. OSCE Secretary General Lamberto Zaner attached great importance to early removal of the flaws at the parliamentary elections, revealed by OSCE / ODIHR election observation mission, for enhancing public trust.
According to the assessments given by the European observers, the parliamentary elections in Armenia passed professionally and effectively in general. However, they also declared about flaws and violations of the Armenian legislature and international commitments.
Zaner also welcomed track of reforms which Armenia has chosen.
He added that OSCE is ready to assist Armenia in efforts to fulfill administrative, economic, democratic and legal reforms through OSCE Yerevan Office which is actively involved into this process.
On his side, Foreign Minister of Armenia Edward Nalbandyan said OSCE plays a key role in ensuring security in the region from Vancouver to Vladivostok.
“Today OSCE is in the process of reformation, and Armenia assists in the initiative which are aimed at advancing efficiency and authority of the Organization,” Nalbandyan said.
Nalbandyan also welcomed the important role of OSCE Yerevan Office, “which greatly contributed to implementation of the reforms in different spheres, development of the civil society, and solutions to ecologic and other issues.”—0--
