Armenia should remain in the row of the safest countries of the world, Serzh Sargsyan, the Armenian president, said Wednesday as he met with Gorik Hakobyan, the head of the National Security Service, and Vladimir Gasparyan, the police chief.
YEREVAN, November 26. /ARKA/. Armenia should remain in the row of the safest countries of the world, Serzh Sargsyan, the Armenian president, said Wednesday as he met with Gorik Hakobyan, the head of the National Security Service, and Vladimir Gasparyan, the police chief.
Sargsyan is quoted by the presidential press office as saying that nothing that can undermine Armenia’s image must happen in the country.
“Geopolitical developments in the world make it necessary to increase the scale of the measures aimed at enhancing Armenian all residents’ security,” he said.
In his words, these measures should be preventive in nature and should not hamper the country’s normal life or restrict citizens.
Sargsyan stressed the importance of professionalism of those people who implement these measures.
“I am convinced that we have specialists devoted to ensuring security to our country, and they do their job properly,” he said.
As an example, he pointed out what happened Tuesday night. Expressing gratitude to the team that raided the criminal group that night, Sargsyan said that pre-emptive measures should be consistent. ---0----
