Armenia is steadfast in its determination to continue the reforms it implements as part of its commitments toward the Council of Europe, Armenian President Serzh Sargsyan said Monday as met with Belgian Vice-premier and Foreign Minister Didier Reynders in Yerevan.

YEREVAN, April 27. /ARKA/. Armenia is steadfast in its determination to continue the reforms it implements as part of its commitments toward the Council of Europe, Armenian President Serzh Sargsyan said Monday as met with Belgian Vice-premier and Foreign Minister Didier Reynders in Yerevan. 

Sargsyan said that although Armenia has reached significant progress in fulfilling its commitments, but it still has plenty to do. 

He said that Armenia, being interested in development of its relations with Belgium, attaches great importance to cooperation with the Council of Europe. 

Reynders, in return, said the Council of Europe is willing to continue supporting Armenia in its efforts to implement political, economic legal and other reforms. 

He also stressed that he highly appreciates close and effective cooperation with Armenia. 

The Belgian minister rated highly his meetings in Yerevan pointing out that either bilateral relations of the two countries or their ties within the Council of Europe are at a high level now.    

He said that after the meeting he will visit Tsitsernakaberd, the memorial to victims of the Armenian Genocide. 

The Armenian president thanked the Council of Europe for participation in the Forum against the Crime of Genocide at a high level and for presence of Belgium's delegation at the ceremony of commemoration of Armenian Genocide victims on April 24 in Yerevan. 

Sargsyan also expressed gratitude to the Belgian government and Reynders personally for contribution to recognition of the fact of Armenian Genocide by Belgium's Senate. 

Sargsyan and Reynders exchanged opinions on the talks over Karabakh, and the latter confirmed his country’s readiness to support the OSCE Minsk Group and the Karabakh peace talks brokered by it. --0----
