Armenia to hold ‘open day’ for Georgian business people interested in investing in Armenia

Armenia plans to organize an "open day" for Georgian business people who are interested in entering the Armenian market, Armenian Prime Minister Karen Karapetyan said at a press conference after meeting with his Georgian counterpart Giorgi Kvirikashvili in Tbilisi.

YEREVAN, February 23. /ARKA/. Armenia plans to organize an "open day" for Georgian business people who are interested in entering the Armenian market, Armenian Prime Minister Karen Karapetyan said at a press conference after meeting with his Georgian counterpart Giorgi Kvirikashvili in Tbilisi.

"We would like Georgians to view Armenia as a country that is worth investing in and visiting as a tourist. We agreed to move forward in that direction. Moreover, our partners have clear instructions, namely to organize an “open day” for all Georgian businessmen who are interested in Armenian and neighboring markets.," Karapetyan was  quoted as saying by the press service of the Armenian government.

The Prime Minister also invited his Georgian counterpart to pay an official visit to Yerevan to build on the new potential, which is being laid at the heart of bilateral relations. He also expressed confidence that the two countries have very interesting opportunities for cooperation.

In turn, Prime Minister of Georgia noted that the parties will actively work to boost their trade and economic cooperation.

"The Prime Minister of Armenia came up with quite interesting suggestions regarding the full utilization of the common cross-industry market of both countries. We expressed readiness to work actively in this area and motivate the private sectors of both countries to tap the potential of regional cooperation.,' said Kvirikashvili.

The two sides were said to have discussed a wide range of issues on trade, economic, energy, transport, agriculture, tourism, and culture sectors and expressed satisfaction with the level of cooperation in the energy sector, as well as attached importance to the prospects of development of transport communications. The parties also paid special attention to the current challenges in the region, stressing that the peaceful and stable development is essential for the development of both countries. On the same day the head of the Armenian government met with President of Georgia Giorgi Margvelashvili. -0-
