Armenian Defense Ministry again denies Azerbaijan's report of shelling on border

YEREVAN, April 9. /ARKA/. The statement by the Azerbaijani Ministry of Defense alleging that on April 8, between 19:20 and 22:30, units of the Armenian Armed Forces opened fire in the direction of Azerbaijani positions located in the southeastern section of the border is false, according to the press service of the Armenian Ministry of Defense.
The ministry reminded that the Office of the Prime Minister of the Republic of Armenia proposed the creation of a joint Armenia-Azerbaijan mechanism to investigate cases of ceasefire violations and/or any information regarding such incidents. However, Azerbaijan has yet to respond to this proposal.
“The Ministry of Defense of the Republic of Armenia confirms that, in accordance with the position of the Office of the Prime Minister of the Republic of Armenia, it is ready to investigate any facts supporting the statement of the Azerbaijani Ministry of Defense upon their transfer to the Armenian side,” the statement said.
