Armenian and Azerbaijani leaders not expected to meet any time soon –deputy foreign minister

YEREVAN, November 9. /ARKA/. Now there are no specific agreement on a meeting between Armenian and Azerbaijani leaders, Armenian Deputy Foreign Minister Vahan Kostanyan told reporters today.
Kostanyan also commented on a remark that Armenian-Azerbaijani negotiations have reached a deadlock because there have been no meetings at the leaders' level.
"There have been no meetings at the leaders' level; however, we are continuing our work. In any case, the mediators are doing some work to organize a new meeting. We are waiting for a new meeting to take place,' Kostanyan said.
On October 5, the President of the European Council Charles Michel, French President Emmanuel Macron, German Chancellor Olaf Scholz and the Armenian Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan met in Granada, Spain. Azerbaijani president Aliyev, who was to join them, refused to travel to Granada for the five-party meeting.
Nevertheless, the leaders of Armenia, France, Germany and the European Council adopted a statement which, inter alia, emphasizes support for Armenia's independence, sovereignty, territorial integrity and the inviolability of its borders.
They also commit themselves to all efforts aimed at normalizing relations between Armenia and Azerbaijan on the basis of mutual recognition of the sovereignty, inviolability of borders and territorial integrity of Armenia (29,800 square kilometers) and Azerbaijan (86,600 square kilometers). -0-
