"The sides emphasized the importance of the upcoming meeting, and discussed a set of issues raised at the previous meeting of the presidents of Armenia and Azerbaijan, which took place on September 4 at Newport (Wales) at the initiative of U.S. secretary of state John Kerry", the Armenian ministry reported.
The sides discussed also a wide range of issues related to the process of peaceful settlement of the Karabakh problem, it said.
Earlier a similar meeting was initiated by Russian president Vladimir Putin on August 10 in Russian Sochi. That meeting was said to have helped ease the tension on the Armenian-Azerbaijani border and along the line of contact in Nagorno-Karabakh, aggravated in late July and early August. -0-
