Armenia's Armed Forces acquire now the latest and advanced types of weapons, Defense Minister David Tonoyan told reporters on Monday.
YEREVAN, November 4. /ARKA/. Armenia's Armed Forces acquire now the latest and advanced types of weapons, Defense Minister David Tonoyan told reporters on Monday.
“We have done so in 2019 and we will do so in 2020 as well,' he said explaining that new weapons are acquired both on contracts and as part of credit programs.
The head of the defense department said also that all the advanced weapons are purchased from four different countries, without mentioning suppliers. Tonoyan confirmed that the Su-30 multipurpose fighters purchased from Russia will arrive in Armenia in December this year or in January or February 2020.
According to earlier reports, under a Russian-Armenian agreement Yerevan was to purchase four Su-30SM multi-functional fighters. Moreover, for the first time in decades, the Armenian Air Force is acquiring new and not used fighters. --0--
