Armenia's defense minister Seyran Ohanyan and the OSCE Minsk Group co-chairs Igor Popov (Russia), James Warlick (USA) and Pierre Andrieu (France) discussed today in Yerevan the situation along the line of contact in Nagorno-Karabakh and the developments that occurred since their previous meeting.

YEREVAN, February 19. / ARKA /. Armenia's defense minister Seyran Ohanyan and the OSCE Minsk Group co-chairs Igor Popov (Russia), James Warlick (USA) and Pierre Andrieu (France) discussed today in Yerevan the situation along the line of contact in Nagorno-Karabakh and the developments that occurred since their previous meeting.

The meeting was attended also by Andrzej Kasprzyk, the personal representative of the OSCE chairman-in-office.

Ohanyan was said to speak about a string of incidents that occurred in recent days on the line of contact voicing also his views on the possible factors behind a sharp rise in tension.

The sides expressed concern over escalating tension in the conflict zone and agreed on the need to implement confidence-building measures.

The two sides discussed also a number of possible measures to enhance confidence and rule out incidents. Ohanyan said these measures will be implemented by the Armenian side.-0-
