YEREVAN, November 13. /ARKA/. Armenia’s defense ministry has condemned today Azerbaijan’s authorities for another round of escalation of tension along the line of contact in Nagorno-Karabakh following the death of two servicemen of Karabakh defense army, killed by Azerbaijani gunfire on October 12.
The servicemen- Vahe Vanoyan, born in 1995, and Mikael Torosyan, born in 1996- were fatally wounded by Azeri troops’ shelling at about 21.00 in the southern direction of the Karabakh-Azerbaijani line of contact.
‘The Armenian Defense Ministry strongly condemns Azerbaijan’s regular terrorist action. Being well aware that this action will not remain without consequences and the guilty will be punished, the Azerbaijani military and political leadership nonetheless again aggravates the situation," the statement says.
The statement says also that Azerbaijan’s steps aimed at destabilizing the situation on the contact line have intensified after the end of parliamentary elections and the visit of the OSCE Minsk Group co-chairs.
"This once again demonstrates the destructive position of the authorities of that state in the Nagorno-Karabakh conflict settlement, who ignore the calls by the international mission and flout the international law", the statement says.
The defense ministry expressed deep condolences to the families of the killed soldiers.-0-
