Armenian government proposes Parliament to convene extraordinary session on Monday

YEREVAN, December 11. /ARKA/. At its regular meeting today, the Armenian government proposed the National Assembly to convene an extraordinary session on Monday to ratify eight international agreements and pass some amendments to laws in connection with Armenia’s accession to the Eurasian Economic Union and other amendments to be made as part of Armenia’s DPO (Development Policy Operation) commitments. David Harutyunyan, the head of the government’s administration, said that the lawmakers should also approve the decisions that are scheduled to take force on January 1, 2015, particularly prolongation of terms for introduction of cash registers by SMEs and provision of preferences to IT companies and duties preferences for Gyumri airport. The law on conducting local referendums is waiting for the Parliament’s approval as well. “I recommend all the ministries to look through the bills and submit their proposals if any for consideration at this extraordinary session,” he said. Earlier, Vardan Ayvazyan, chairman of the Parliament’s economy committee, said that amendments to 25 laws would be put on the National Assembly’s floor at the extraordinary session. On December 4, the National Assembly ratified the agreement on Armenia’s accession to the Eurasian Economic Union. In accordance with this agreement, Armenia, along with Russia, Belarus and Kazakhstan, becomes a member of the union on January 1, 2015. ---0-----
