Armenian Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan has commented on the statement Defense Minister Davit Tonoyan made Monday in New York as he met with representatives the city’s Armenian community.

YEREVAN, April 2. /ARKA/. Armenian Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan has commented on the statement Defense Minister Davit Tonoyan made Monday in New York as he met with representatives the city’s Armenian community.
Tonoyan said at the meeting that he has replaced the formula “territories for peace” with another one “a new war for territories”.
“If Davit Tonoyan had made another statement, then I’d have dismissed him as Armenian defense minister,” Nikol Pashinyan said commenting on Tonoyan’s statement. “He said if a war happens, we will try to win the war. If the defense minister thought otherwise, he wouldn’t work. This absolutely doesn’t overshadow the peace process of the conflict settlement, but quite the opposite - it confirms the importance of the negotiation process.”
Asked if this statement had been concerted, Pashinyan said that the defense minister works under the prime minister’s direction and under his command. -0---
