YEREVAN, May 20. /ARKA/. Armenian president Serzh Sargsyan sent a congratulatory message today to the president of the Islamic Republic of Iran Hassan Rouhani on his decisive victory in the presidential election and on his re-election to the high and responsible position, Sargsyan’s press service reported.

“I am confident that during your tenure in office, the friendly neighborly Iran will continue to develop upward, bringing its considerable and important contribution to the establishment of regional peace and stability.

I am hopeful that through our joint efforts, the traditionally warm and friendly Iranian-Armenian relations will continue to develop and strengthen in all areas, registering a qualitatively new level of cooperation between our peoples.

I wish you excellent health, success in all your undertakings, and I wish lasting peace and prosperity to the friendly people of Iran,” reads the congratulatory message of the president of Armenia. ‘

Iran’s interior minister said on Saturday that incumbent president Hassan Rouhani has been reelected to the post having won 57% of the vote. The outcome is giving the 68-year-old Rouhani a second four-year term. -0-
