YEREVAN, June 17./ARKA/. Armenian President Serzh Sargsyan addressed yesterday a congratulatory letter to the newly elected president of Iran Hassan Rohani, the President’s Office reported.

The eleventh presidential election of the Islamic Republic of Iran was held on 14 June.

The reformer and former secretary of Iran’s Supreme National Security Council gained over 50% of the vote. The turnover stood at 72.7%.

“I believe the traditional friendship and high level of political dialogue between Armenia and Iran will continue advancing posting new achievements for the sake of our people,” Sargsyan said in his message.

Armenian President has noted he remembers the meeting with Rohani in Yerevan and Teheran with all the warmth. Sargsyan believes the bilateral relations will go on developing.

“I wish you good health and new achievements in ensuring sustainable progress in Iran,” the Armenian head of state noted. -0-
