Armenian president off to Vienna for talks with Azeri counterpart over Karabakh

Armenia's president Serzh Sargsyan is flying today to Vienna, Austria, for a meeting with Azerbaijani president Ilham Aliyev to discuss a fragile cease-fire in Nagorno-Karabakh.

YEREVAN, May 16. /ARKA. Armenia's president Serzh Sargsyan is flying today to Vienna, Austria, for a meeting with Azerbaijani president Ilham Aliyev to discuss a fragile cease-fire in Nagorno-Karabakh.
It will be the first meeting of Serzh Sargsyan and Ilham Aliyev since the unprecedented upsurge in violence along the line of contact in the conflict zone, unleashed by Azerbaijan on April 2.
A spokeswoman for Russian foreign ministry Maria Zakharova said last week that Russian foreign minister Sergey Lavrov and U.S. secretary of state John Kerry who are in Vienna for multilateral talks on Syria and Libya -would also meet with the Armenian and Azerbaijani presidents.
The chairs of the so-called Minsk Group of mediators from the United States, Russia, and France are to attend the talks as well. -0-
