Armenian president to attend European People’s Party and EU Eastern Partnership summits in Latvia

Armenian President Serzh Sargsyan is to pay a working visit to the Republic of Latvia to take part in the summits of the European People’s Party and the EU Eastern Partnership to be held in Riga from 21 to 22 May.
YEREVAN, May 20. /ARKA/. On May 21, Armenian President Serzh Sargsyan is to pay a working visit to the Republic of Latvia to take part in the summits of the European People’s Party and the EU Eastern Partnership to be held in Riga from 21 to 22 May. As part of the visit, the Armenian president plans to have bilateral meetings, his press office said.
The 4th Eastern Partnership summit in Riga will bring together the highest representatives from the EU institutions, 28 EU member states and the six Eastern European partners.
Launched in 2009, the Eastern Partnership aimed to export European market democracy to six ex-Soviet countries Belarus, Armenia, Azerbaijan, Georgia, Ukraine and Moldova by offering co-operation and free trade in return for reforms. -0-
