Armenian president visits Russia’s embassy and congratulates Russian citizens on their state holiday

Armenian President Serzh Sargsyan visited Russia's embassy in Yerevan and congratulated Russian Ambassador to Armenia Ivan Volinkin on his country's state holiday, the presidential press office reports.

YEREVAN, June 12. /ARKA/. Armenian President Serzh Sargsyan visited Russia's embassy in Yerevan and congratulated Russian Ambassador to Armenia Ivan Volinkin on his country's state holiday, the presidential press office reports. 

Sargsyan also sent congratulation messages to Russian President Vladimir Putin and Russian Prime Minister Dmitry Medvedev. 

In his message to Putin, the Armenian president stressed that this holiday is closely tied to deep changes in Russia's political, social and economic life. 

«Deep roots of the two countries' relations ensure today the growing development of Armenian-Russian allied relations based on centuries-long friendship, brotherhood and mutual support traditions,» he said. 

Sargsyan also expressed confidence that joint efforts for strengthening both bilateral relations and cooperation in the Collective Security Treaty Organization, the Eurasian Economic Union and the Commonwealth of Independent States. 

The Armenian president wished his Russian counterpart health and happiness as well as new achievements in his state activity. He also wished all the citizens of Russia welfare and prosperity.   

Congratulating Medvedev, Sargsyan said that this holiday is connected with reformation of all the segments of Russia's statehood and fortification of Russia's role in the world. 

He said strategic relations between the two countries are consistently developing, embracing new grounds for cooperation. ---0----
