Armenia’s government budget for 2015 is feasible and social-oriented, Gagik Minasyan, an MP from the Republican Party of Armenia who chairs the National Assembly’s financial and budgetary committee, told journalists on Friday.

YEREVAN, November 7. /ARKA/. Armenia’s government budget for 2015 is feasible and social-oriented, Gagik Minasyan, an MP from the Republican Party of Armenia who chairs the National Assembly’s financial and budgetary committee, told journalists on Friday. 

In his words, the major part of the budget spending is targeted on social security, education and science. 

He described the budget as realistic saying it doesn’t envisage spending whose implementation may depend on external factors. 

Minasyan also pointed out application of the program budgeting method as another peculiarity of the 2015 government budget. 

“The government has done plenty here, and thanks to this the budget comprises of 175 programs,” he said. 

The draft state budget for 2015 calls for 1 trillion and 221 billion drams in revenues (nearly $2.9 billion) and 1 trillion and 337 billion drams in spending ($3.1 billion). The projected deficit is 116.6 billion drams.

Social spending amounts to AMD 385.6 billion. This amount is more than social spending in the 2014 budget by AMD 23.5 billion. ($1 – AMD 413.94). ---0------
