Armenian’s tax and customs services unlikely to be separated - newspaper
YEREVAN, September 27. /ARKA/. The Armenian authorities are discussing throughout more than one week whether to divide the State Revenue Committee’s tax and customs unit into two separate agencies or not, Zhoghovurd reports.

According to the newspaper, it is even known that Karen Karapetyan, the new prime minister, intends to appoint Vardan Harutyunyan, CEO of Gazprom Armenia as head of customs service.

At the same time, the newspaper reports that both the State Revenue Committee and the government say separation is not being discussed.

Rumors are already going around that Hakob Hovsepyan, brother of the state Revenue Committee Head Hovhannes Hovsepyan, who lives in Russia, has come to Armenia and has met with the Armenian president promising to attract additional investments to Armenia from Russia.

In particular, he vowed to invest $5 million.

It seems, after this meeting the leadership decided not to separate tax and customs division of the committee and leave them under Hovhannes Hovsepyan’s management. --0---
