YEREVAN, November 18. /ARKA/. Armenia’s parliament speaker Galust Sahakyan urged the deputies to vote in favour of bills supporting the border regions, despite the political differences.
The parliament discussed two bills - on social support and tax exemption for the country’s border regions at its Monday session.
The speaker said consolidation was achieved on the government-proposed bills in the parliament over the last months.
“This is one of the special cases when the entire parliament agrees with the government policy on an issue”, Sahakyan said.
The speaker said the government is ready to do more for rural regions but real possibilities are limited. Yet, similar initiatives will be promoted in future, he said.
“I would like to continue cooperation in this format and all deputies to vote in favour of these two bills tomorrow. This will be a solidarity the opposition wants us to show”, Sahakyan said. –0—
