Azerbaijan does not provide security guarantees for OSCE mission to survey helicopter crash site

Armenian defense minister Seyran Ohanyan had a meeting today with Andrzej Kasprzyk, the personal representative of the OSCE chairman –in-office, to discuss coordination of efforts by the chairs of the OSCE Minsk Group and the chairman-in-office for recovering the bodies of three Nagorno-Karabakh pilots reportedly killed when Azerbaijani forces shot down their helicopter on November 12 east of the line of contact in Nagorno-Karabakh.

Armenian defense minister Seyran Ohanyan had a meeting today with Andrzej Kasprzyk, the personal representative of the OSCE chairman –in-office, to discuss coordination of efforts by the chairs of the OSCE Minsk Group and the chairman-in-office for recovering the bodies of three Nagorno-Karabakh pilots reportedly killed when Azerbaijani forces shot down their helicopter on November 12 east of the line of contact in Nagorno-Karabakh.
In a related development, in an interview with Artsakh Public TV Andrzej Kasprzyk said Azerbaijani authorities refused to provide the OSCE mission with security guarantees for the survey of the site where the helicopter was downed.
According to Kasprzyk, the OSCE mission attempted to monitor the Karabakh-Azerbaijani contact line near the site where the helicopter was shot down but did not receive security guarantees from Azerbaijan.
He stated that the negotiations on the recovery of the dead bodies of pilots continued.
"On my part, I do what I can and what is possible to get access to the site as soon as possible," said Kasprzyk.-0-
