Azerbaijani soldiers force villagers of Khramort village in Nagorno-Karabakh to stop cultivating their vineyards at gunpoint
YEREVAN, February 16. /ARKA/. Azerbaijani soldiers on Wednesday threatened to use their firearms if farmers in the village of Khramort in Askeran district of Nagorno-Karabakh refused to stop working in their vineyards, according to Khramort community head Zorik Abrahamyan.
"Our residents were not allowed to work in their vineyards. Azerbaijanis threatened to use violence and warned them not to come to these territories anymore. Russian peacekeepers were also present. The Azeri soldiers forced our residents to leave the vineyards at gunpoint, but no shots were fired," the head of the community said.
According to Abrahamyan, not only residents of Khramort, but also residents of the neighboring community work in these vineyards.
"People are engaged in various agricultural activities to earn their living and now they are deprived of their source of income," said the head of Khramort community.
According to the Ministry of Internal Affairs of the Republic of Artsakh, on 15th of February, at about 3:30 p.m., Azerbaijani armed forces opened fire in the direction of a resident of the village Khnapat who was working in his filed which is in the administrative territory of the Khramort.
