YEREVAN, June 17. /ARKA/. The Bureau of the Congress of Local and Regional Authorities of the Council of Europe will hold its next meeting in Yerevan on June 18, the Armenian territorial administration ministry’s press office reported today.

Bureau of CE Congress of Local and Regional Authorities to hold its next meeting in Yerevan

YEREVAN, June 17. /ARKA/. The Bureau of the Congress of Local and Regional Authorities of the Council of Europe will hold its next meeting in Yerevan on June 18, the Armenian territorial administration ministry’s press office reported today.

At their meeting, bureau members will discuss the agenda of the 25th Session of the Congress, activities of the Congress committees.

They will also discuss the latest developments in local and regional democracy and ways to enhance effectiveness of local administration. CE countries’ experience will be presented here as well.
An international conference will be held in Yerevan the next day to discuss democracy-related issues.

The conference will be held to mark Armenia’s Chairmanship of the Committee of Ministers of the Council of Europe.

President of the Congress Herwig van Staa, other representatives of the Congress, Armenian Vice-premier and Territorial Administration Minister Armen Gevorgyan and representatives of concerned governing institutions and other organizations as well as international and local experts will be present at the conference. ---0---
