The Commonwealth of Independent States (CIS) has a special role in ensuring stability amid escalation in many regions of the world, Armenia’s president Serzh Sargsyan said at the CIS leaders’ meeting, as quoted by ITAR-TASS.
YEREVAN, October 10. /ARKA/. The Commonwealth of Independent States (CIS) has a special role in ensuring stability amid escalation in many regions of the world, Armenia’s president Serzh Sargsyan said at the CIS leaders’ meeting, as quoted by ITAR-TASS.
Amid political escalation and international tensions in many regions of the world, cooperation within CIS should aim at peace and stability, settlement of the pending and prevention of future conflicts through exclusively peaceful means and in compliance with UNO regulations, the president said.
At the same time, the president said, cooperation in the military, law-enforcement and anti-drug measures remain a priority.
Sargsyan urged the respective CIS bodies to aim at achieving concrete targets and tangible results. –0—
