YEREVAN, October 10. /ARKA/. The newly elected Mayor of Yerevan Tigran Avinyan and the head of the Hanrapetutyun (Republic) faction Artak Zeynalyan signed a memorandum of cooperation at a joint press conference on Tuesday.

Avinyan had been nominated for the post by PM Nikol Pashinyan's Civil Contract party. According to Avinyan, the factions will govern the Armenian capital city together.

Earlier at Tuesday's session, Avinyan was elected mayor of Yerevan by a vote of 32 to 5 by the new 65-member Council of Elders elected in the September 17 polls.-0-
