YEREVAN, September 22. /ARKA/. The secretary general of the Russia-led Collective Security Treaty Organization (CSTO) Nikolay Bordyzha said today the organization was not considering deployment of peacekeepers to Ukraine. Speaking at a video news conference between Yerevan and Astana he said no such decision was being considered.
“Hypothetically speaking, under the agreements we have in the CSTO, peacekeepers can be used both in the member states and outside them,” Bordyuzha said.
In response to a question on a possible composition of a CSTO peacekeeping force Bordyzha said it was hard to say now who could be involved in it, adding that a relating agreement was signed by all members of the organization and it is up to them to decide.
The CSTO peacekeeping force consists of troops from Russia. Armenia, Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, Belarus and Tajikistan. -0-
