CSTO Secretary General pays his first-ever visit to Armenia-Azerbaijan borderline

The Secretary General of the Collective Security Treaty Organization Nikolay Bordiuja visited on Tuesday military bases at the southwestern section of Armenia-Azerbaijan border, accompanied by the Armenian defense minister Seyran Ohanyan and the first deputy defense minister David Tonoyan.
YEREVAN, October 8. /ARKA/. The Secretary General of the Collective Security Treaty Organization Nikolay Bordiuja visited on Tuesday military bases at the southwestern section of Armenia-Azerbaijan border, accompanied by the Armenian defense minister Seyran Ohanyan and the first deputy defense minister David Tonoyan.
Bordiuja got acquainted with daily routine of the Armenian soldiers on combat duty, the defense ministry press office reported.
Mayor-general Ishkhan Matevosyan reported on the situation at the borderline, regular truce violations by Azerbaijani military and the preventive measures taken by the Armenian side, according to the report.
Bordiuja got acquainted with the army living conditions, the logistics and combat duty aspects.
The Secretary General told reporters that the general situation is satisfying and the goal of his visit is to make a report on the operative situation at the contact line. This was the first visit of CSTO Secretary-General to the borderline.
Armenia’s minister of defense Seyran Ohanyan welcomed the visit and said such visits once again show the CSTO is interested in the situation at its member-countries. He also said complex approaches are formed during similar visits to determine further steps. –0--
