YEREVAN, October 28. /ARKA/. Ongoing integration processes should be more often introduced to the Armenian society, head of European Integration non-governmental organization Karen Bekaryan said.
“I believe today attitudes to these processes are not adequate enough”, Bekaryan told a press conference in Novosti international press center.
The expert pointed to two reasons for such attitudes – first, the processes are quite fast and simultaneous and no large-scale measures are taken to raise public awareness.
In speaking about possible reasons for Armenia’s intention to join the Russia-led Customs Union, the expert said the decision about admission is made using consensus and Turkey is also among potential Customs Union members. Apart from this, according to the expert, one should not rule out possibility of behind-the-scene negotiations about Azerbaijan’s accession. All these factors may have had speeded up the decision about Armenia’s accession, Bekaryan said.
Armenia is ready to assume almost full obligations required for accession to the Customs Union, and a special working group will submit a roadmap already in December. –0--
