Economic activity in Armenia increased by 4.1% in 2 months of 2025

YEREVAN, March 25. /ARKA/. According to preliminary data, Armenia's economic activity indicator in January-February 2025 registered a growth of 4.1% compared to the first two months of 2024, reports the National Statistical Committee of Armenia.
In February of this year, compared to February of the previous year, the economic activity indicator grew by 1.5%, and compared to January of the same year, it increased by 5.3%.
In January-February, the volume of industrial production amounted to 380,486.7 million drams, showing a decrease of 19.4% compared to January-February 2024. In February, the year-on-year decline was 26.6%, and the month-on-month decline was 0.6%.
The volume of construction in the first two months of this year increased by 12.2% compared to the same period last year, reaching 44,648.1 million drams. In February, the annual growth was 12.7%, and the month-on-month growth was 36.8%.
Meanwhile, domestic trade turnover for January-February of the current year amounted to 822,658.3 million drams, which is 7.8% higher than the figure for the same period last year. In February, the year-on-year growth was 6%, and the month-on-month growth was 16.6%.
According to statistics, the volume of the service sector (excluding trade) for January-February 2025 reached 556,120.3 million drams, a 12.4% increase compared to the same period in 2024. In February, the year-on-year growth was 12.1%, and the month-on-month decline was 1.3%.
Figures and Forecasts for the Armenian Economy
The economic growth forecast for Armenia in the state budget for 2025 is set at 5.1%. According to the Central Bank's Monetary Policy Report for the first quarter of 2025, Armenia's GDP growth is expected to be in the range of 4.8%-7% by the end of 2025, 4.1%-4.7% in 2026, and 4.7%-6.1% in 2027. The EDB forecasts Armenia's GDP growth at 5.5% in 2025. The World Bank expects Armenia's economy to grow by 5% in 2025, the IMF by 4.9%, the EBRD by 4.8%, and the ADB by 6%. According to the forecast from Fitch Ratings, Armenia's economy will grow by 4.9% in 2025, while the UN expects the Armenian economy to grow by 5.2% in 2025 and by 4.7% in 2026. ($1 = 391.83 AMD)
