The European Union intends to provide €140 to 170 million to Armenia as assistance in implementation of political and social reforms, facilitation of visa regime and protection of human rights and values, EU Commissioner for European Neighborhood Policy and Enlargement Johannes Khan said Wednesday in Yerevan at his joint news conference with Armenian Foreign Minister Edward Nalbandyan.

YEREVAN, March 18. /ARKA/. The European Union intends to provide €140 to 170 million to Armenia as assistance in implementation of political and social reforms, facilitation of visa regime and protection of human rights and values, EU Commissioner for European Neighborhood Policy and Enlargement Johannes Khan said Wednesday in Yerevan at his joint news conference with Armenian Foreign Minister Edward Nalbandyan.

He said the EU assistance intended for 2015-2017 should be used as effectively as possible.

It is necessary, he said, to develop the private sector and implement judicial and state governance reforms.

Khan said that Armenia has made progress in technologic education, and this is very important, since high-qualified specialists will propel the country's development. ---0-----
