Foreign ministers of Armenia and Montenegro spoke about expanding cooperation

Foreign Minister of Armenia Edward Nalbandian and Igor Lukšić, Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs and European Integration of Montenegro, discussed the prospects for the bilateral cooperation in Yerevan.
Foreign ministers of Armenia and Montenegro spoke about expanding cooperation
YEREVAN, May 7./ARKA/. Foreign Minister of Armenia Edward Nalbandian and Igor Lukšić, Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs and European Integration of Montenegro, discussed the prospects for the bilateral cooperation in Yerevan. 

“This is the first visit of a high official from Montenegro since the diplomatic relations between the two states were established, and I think this is a good beginning and reason for fostering the the bilateral cooperation,” Nalbandian said Tuesday at the briefing. 

He added they discussed the issues related to the launch of the legal framework between the two states, and activation of the political dialogue. 

 “Today we spoke about the prospects to expand our cooperation within different international organizations, and to form a consultative mechanism between the Foreign Ministries of the both countries, as well as to develop commercial and economic ties and cooperation in education, science, culture, etc.,” Novosti-Armenia quoted his as saying.

Nalbandian also said the sides referred to the Karabakh conflict and the recent developments in the Balkans.

Igor Lukšić, on his side, said Montenegro and Armenia have amiable relations. 

He added in the near future the states should establish closer political contacts which will open the doors of further cooperation in all spheres. 

FM of Montenegro also expressed confidence that his visit to Armenia and exchange of ambassadors-non-residents will contribute to expanding cooperation.

Lukšić is in Armenia on a visit, May 6-7.

Lukšić will also meet with Armenia’s president Serzh Sargsyan, parliament speaker Hovik Abrahamyan and prime minister Tigran Sargsyan

Lukšić will also visit Tsitsernakaberd Genocide Memorial in Yerevan and will lay a wreath to it. —0-
