Seyran Ohanyan, a former defense minister of Armenia, has decided to join mainstream politics.
YEREVAN, December 20. /ARKA/. Seyran Ohanyan, a former defense minister of Armenia, has decided to join mainstream politics.
He said on his Facebook page that he could not watch political developments in the country as a sideliner.
Seyran Ohanyan was in office from 2008 to 2016. He said he left his defense-ministerial seat calmly and rejected other offered positions.
He declared that being guided by patriotic ideas, he intends to join political struggle and to take part in election rallies “to serve the Motherland”.
He said his goal is to run in the 2017 parliamentary elections with s group of loyalists. In his words, he is now talking with certain political activists and celebrities to bring them together to work out some programs “to form new political and economic systems in the country”. --0----
