French foreign minister says Pashinyan-Aliyev meeting possible in June

YEREVAN, May 5. /ARKA/. The position of France, the European Union and the UN International Court of Justice (ICJ) is that the Lachin corridor must be opened fully and without preconditions, French Foreign Minister Catherine Colonna said in an interview with France Inter radio, Armenia's Public Television reported.
On April 23 Azerbaijan set up a checkpoint in the Lachin corridor in the zone of responsibility of the Russian peacekeeping contingent obstructing the free movement of people and traffic to and from Nagorno-Karabakh. The corridor has been blocked by Azerbaijan since last December 12.
Armenia, Nagorno-Karabakh, EU, USA and many international organizations condemned these actions. Armenia also called on Moscow to eliminate this violation of the trilateral statement of November 9, 2020 by Baku.
In an interview Colonna added that it is necessary to distinguish between Armenian-Azerbaijani relations and the situation in Artsakh (Nagorno-Karabakh).
Colonna said that discussions with the mediation of the European Union are planned for May. The French foreign minister said it's also possible that the leaders of Armenia and Azerbaijan will meet on June 1 on the sidelines of the European political community forum. -0-
