Germany’s newly appointed ambassador presents duplicates of his credentials to Armenian FM

Germany’s newly appointed ambassador to Armenia Matthias Kiesler presented Friday the duplicates of his credentials to Armenia’s foreign minister Edward Nalbandian, who expressed hope that the ambassador will work to further deepen and strengthen the friendly Armenian-German relations.

YEREVAN, July 18. / ARKA /. Germany’s newly appointed ambassador to Armenia Matthias Kiesler presented Friday the duplicates of his credentials to Armenia’s foreign minister Edward Nalbandian, who expressed hope that the ambassador will work to further deepen and strengthen the friendly Armenian-German relations.
The two men were said by Armenian foreign ministry to note the importance of mutual high-level visits and expansion of the bilateral legal framework.
They also spoke about bilateral consultations as well as cooperation in trade, economic, scientific and cultural fields. Nalbandian was said to have highly appreciated the April 23 statement by German president Joachim Gauck on the Armenian Genocide.
Nalbandian and Kiesler discussed also a set of issues relating to Armenia-EU cooperation as well as Germany’s upcoming presidency of the OSCE. Nalbandian also spoke about the current status of the Nagorno-Karabakh peace process. -0-
