Government should once again discuss opposition’s demands – Armenian president
YEREVAN, November 11. /ARKA/. The government should discuss, point by point, the twelve demands by the opposition and present the processes where these demands will be satisfied, Armenia’s president said in his exclusive interview to Armenpress. The president said he calls on his party colleagues and public administration staffs to thoroughly study the proposals and separate everything useful rather than to perceive critics as something hostile. In this respect, the most important is so-called twelve items that the four parliament parties (Prosperous Armenia, Heritage, Armenian National Congress and ARF Dashnaktsutiun) proposed to the government, Sargsyan said. According to the president, the government has thoroughly studied these demands and provided detailed answers to them. The current standing is that the parliament forces are not satisfied with the answers on the one hand, and the government says it has done a huge work out of what was possible to be done on the other hand, the president said. According to Sargsyan, it would be appropriate to discuss the document point by point and present particular processes where these points will become reality. This will make the parliament parties feel they are not ignored on the one hand, and the government will have a chance to take a fresh look at the package on the other hand, he said. Sargsyan also said they will take the advantage of time left before February to consolidate political forces for the constitutional reform. “It is impossible to have a good constitution without consolidation and support from political forces”, the president said. –0--
