YEREVAN, November 24. /ARKA/. Armenian minister of defense Seyran Ohanyan said the Karabakh task force acted skillfully in the operation to get access to wreckage and recover the remains of the helicopter pilots.
On Saturday Karabakh commandos conducted a special operation and recovered the body of one and the remains of two other pilots killed in the Mi-24 helicopter shot down by Azerbaijan while carrying out a training flight on November 12. Two Azeri troops were killed during the operation. Karabakh force suffered no loss, according to the report.
Azerbaijan’s tough position on the issue, lack of common sense and refusal to allow access for recovery of the bodies as required by the humanitarian norms made Karabakh forces to resort to a special operation, Ohanyan said referring to Karabakh defense chief.
Ohanyan also said Azerbaijan will be getting at least an adequate response to every provocation. The frontline service will be strengthened and will counteract if attempts are made to violate the cease-fire, he said.
The spokesman for Armenia’s ministry of defense Artsrun Hovhannisyan , in his turn, said the operation on recovery of the bodies was unprecedented as it was conducted in conditions of intense fire and other enemy counteraction. –0--
