Viktor Khristenko, chairman of the Eurasian Economic Commission’s board, thinks Armenia’s membership in the Customs Union would not complicate matters over Nagorno Karabakh, but even improve things.
YEREVAN, November 6. /ARKA/. Viktor Khristenko, chairman of the Eurasian Economic Commission’s board, thinks Armenia’s membership in the Customs Union would not complicate matters over Nagorno Karabakh, but even improve things.
He is quoted by Novosti Armenia as saying at a joint briefing with Armenian Prime Minister Tigran Sargsyan that Karabakh problem is not an obstacle for Armenia’s efforts to implement its plans.
Khristenko said that this is a long-running conflict, which is not connecting with Armenia’s wish to join the Customs Union.
There are special formats and specialists who are searching for ways to settle it.
“As for economic aspects, which are emerging as Armenia is integrating in the Customs Union, economic development has never aggravated unregulated situations or even unsettled conflicts, and as a rule, contributed to their settlement,” he added. ----0----
