More than third of Armenian citizens unwilling to participate in elections - survey

YEREVAN, August 4. /ARKA/. A public opinion survey conducted by the Armenian office of GALLUP International Association has revealed political preferences of citizens in case national elections were held next Sunday.
The greatest support was shown for the ruling Civil Contract party of PM Pashinyan with 13.3% of respondents ready to vote for it.
The Hayastan (Armenia) alliance led by the Armenian Revolutionary Federation would be backed by 3.8% of the voters and another 1.8% would vote for the Prosperous Armenia party.
Pativ Unem alliance, based on the Republican Party of Armenia, would be backed by 1.5% of respondents. The least support of citizens was given to the Communist Party of Armenia - 0.1%,
At the same time, 36.3% of respondents said they would not take part in the elections, 20.2% found it difficult to answer the question, and 5.4% refused to answer.
A total of 1,100 respondents took part in the telephone survey conducted from July 27 to 31 in Armenia. -0-
