MP: delimitation and demarcation of border cannot be discussed in isolation from the right of Artsakh people to self-determination

YEREVAN, November 19. /ARKA/. MP Artsvik Minasyan from the opposition Hayastan (Armenia) alliance in the National Assembly accused today Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan of high treason.

Speaking at a press briefing, he recalled that the Armenian Foreign Ministry had stated several months ago that the process of delimitation and demarcation of the border between Armenia and Azerbaijan cannot be discussed in isolation from the right of the people of Artsakh (Nagorno-Karabakh) to self-determination.

“The other day, speaking in parliament Pashinyan stated the diametrically opposite arguing that these are three different issues. His words are nothing but killing the right of the people of Artsakh to self-determination, nothing more than outright treason," Minasyan claimed.

Another MP from the alliance, Agnessa Khamoyan, said she had a feeling that the scenario of last autumn’s 44-day war (in Karabakh conflict zone) was being implemented, when Pashinyan would argue that he had agreed to sign the November 2020 statement (to end hostilities0 to save the lives of several tens of thousands of soldiers and thus tried to "sell the idea of the so-called peace to our society ".

“The same thing happened over the past few days, when the Armenian side again suffered territorial losses on the border, losses in manpower. Now we do not know how many Armenian soldiers were taken prisoner by Azerbaijanis, and Nikol Pashinyan declares that Russia’s proposals on delimitation and demarcation are acceptable to him. Obviously, at this tense moment, when people are ready to do anything for the sake of peace, he tried to present the agreements that he reached behind the backs of the people. And this is a person who declared that he had nothing to hide from the people,”she said.

On November 16 Azerbaijani forces attempted to break through the Armenia’s state border before being repelled by Armenian troops. The Armenian Defense Ministry said November 17 morning that the enemy has up to 70 killed and wounded servicemen, as well as significant losses of military hardware, including 4 armored personnel carriers, 1 armored vehicle Sandcat, and 5 Russian-made trucks.

According to it, twelve Armenian servicemen were captured,’ the ministry said, while communication with 24 more servicemen was lost during the clashes and their fate is currently unknown. -0-
