Neither Russia's authorities nor the opposition were interested in killing Boris Nemtsov, Alexander Markarov, a political analyst and the director of CIS Countries Institute’s Armenian branch, said Thursday at a news conference.
YEREVAN, March 5. /ARKA/. Neither Russia's authorities nor the opposition were interested in killing Boris Nemtsov, Alexander Markarov, a political analyst and the director of CIS Countries Institute’s Armenian branch, said Thursday at a news conference.
He said Nemtsov creates no trouble for the authorities, even with the report he was preparing about Russia's involvement in Ukrainian conflict.
«This version is understandable, but this is not a reason for physical elimination,» Markarov was quoted by Novosti-Armenia.
Another version, according to which protests triggered by this killing might add strength to the opposition march scheduled for March 1, is groundless as well, since the opposition couldn't use this killing as a political banner because of little influence.
Russian politician Boris Nemtsov, who formerly held some high positions in Russia's government and later shifted to the opposition, was shot dead Friday night in Moscow. ---0-----
