Armenia looks at the Netherlands as a model of development, and is interested in deepening and strengthening of bilateral friendship, President Serzh Sargsyan said Tuesday at a meeting with a visiting Dutch delegation led by Harry van Bommel, head of the House of Representatives Foreign Affairs Committee.
YEREVAN, May 12. / ARKA /. Armenia looks at the Netherlands as a model of development, and is interested in deepening and strengthening of bilateral friendship, President Serzh Sargsyan said Tuesday at a meeting with a visiting Dutch delegation led by Harry van Bommel, head of the House of Representatives Foreign Affairs Committee.
Sargsyan's press service quoted him as saying that the Netherlands with its developed economy, advanced role in technological innovation is a good example for Armenia, including in terms of implementation of fundamental reforms.
Sargsyan said active mutual visits will raise the parliamentary cooperation between the two countries to a new level, which will in turn contribute to the development and strengthening of the Armenian-Dutch inter-state relations.
President Sargsyan thanked the Dutch parliamentarians for an April 9 resolution commemorating the 100th anniversary of the Armenian Genocide and also appreciated the recognition of the Armenian Genocide by the Dutch parliament back in 2004 .
During the meeting the sides touched also upon the regional problems and challenges as well as the Nagorno-Karabakh peace process. Sargsyan took then questions from Dutch MPs.-0-
