YEREVAN, July 18./ARKA/. Starting from 20 July, Yerevan residents will have to pay 150 drams for bus and minibus tickets instead of current 100 drams, said Henrikh Navasardyan, head of the Municipal transport management division.
“The trolleybus fair will be 100 drams instead of current 50 drams,” he said.
According to him, metro fares are not subject to change (100 drams).
Hikes in the fares are linked to increase in gas tariffs in Armenia. On June 7, Armenian’s public services regulatory commission approved the new price for gas for customers with monthly consumption of up to 10,000 cubic meters – 156,000 drams per every 1,000 cubic meters (including VAT), as compared to the previous 132,000 drams.
Yerevan Municipality earlier reported to ARKA that they had received several applications requesting for an increase in fares up to 200 drams. (41 – 410.30 drams).—0-
