Newspaper: Russian not to lower its gas price for Armenia, but to offer payment in rubles instead
YEREVAN, March 31. /ARKA/. The Russian natural gas price for Armenia will not be lowered, Haraparak reports.

The newspaper's Russian sources don't rule out application of absolutely different means to lower the price – payment may be maid in Russian rubles instead.

They say that the Russian currency will stabilize, and Armenia will be in an advantageous situation.

The sources also told the newspaper that the decision on Russian Prime Minister Dmitry Medvedev's visit to Armenia was made as a result of the latest meeting between Armenian and Russian presidents, where Serzh Sargsyan told Vladimir Putin that Medvedev's visit on Moscow to Armenia was being dragged down, and Putin responded to that by saying that the premier will visit Armenia, and on the next day the Russian media reported that he will arrive in Yerevan on April 7.

According to the newspaper, the Armenian side takes the idea of payment in rubles cautiously, but, as the sources say Tigran Sargsyan, the head of the Eurasian Economic Commission, supports the idea fix of introduction of a single currency in the Eurasian Economic Union’s territory and is trying to put it into practice starting from Armenia. ---0----
