An extraordinary session of Armenia’s parliament initiated by the oppositional Armenian National Congress (ANC) didn’t take place as there was no quorum.

YEREVAN, November 21. /ARKA/. An extraordinary session of Armenia’s parliament initiated by the oppositional Armenian National Congress (ANC) didn’t take place as there was no quorum.
ANC collected 44 signatures which were enough for assembling the parliament. ANC expected to discuss the amendments to the Electoral and Penal codes of Armenia, as well as to the law on the state register of population during this extraordinary session.
Republicans didn’t attend the session. As a result, there were only 44 deputies registered, whereas for the quorum it is necessary to have over half of the deputies registered (66 in a 131-seat parliament).
Three hours later the parliamentarians should assemble in the hall again to repeat the registration.ANC intends to protest in front of the parliament building. -0-
