YEREVAN, February 19. /ARKA/. The Armenian National Congress, the People’s Party of Armenia and New Armenia Public Salvation Front will stage a joint rally on March 1, 2016 to remember those killed eight year ago in Yerevan.

In their joint statement, they say the rally will be staged to commemorate the victims and as a protest against state terror.

People are invited to the Liberty Square at 18:00 for attending the rally and then marching from the Liberty Square, through Mashtots Avenue and Grigor Lusavorich Street to Myasnikyan Monument.

After the 2008 presidential election, Armenian opposition headed by the first president Levon Ter-Petrosyan, who lost the then race for presidency, staged protests saying the election had been fraudulent and the results had been rigged. The rallies ended in clashes between protesters and law enforcements.
As a result, ten were killed and 200 injured. Many were arrested. --0---
