The OSCE Chairman-in-Office, Ukrainian Foreign Minister Leonid Kozhara said the OSCE Minsk Group could step up its efforts to ensure progress in the negotiations on the Nagorno-Karabakh conflict.
YEREVAN, July 15. /ARKA/. The OSCE Chairman-in-Office, Ukrainian Foreign Minister Leonid Kozhara said the OSCE Minsk Group could step up its efforts to ensure progress in the negotiations on the Nagorno-Karabakh conflict.
"We support the efforts of the OSCE Minsk Group co-chairs and we believe that the Minsk Group could work more actively to produce some practical results, because no international conflict was resolved after conferences and meetings. A fruitful practical work is needed ," he said Monday during a joint press conference with Armenian Foreign Minister Edward Nalbandian in Yerevan.
"We know that meetings in different formats are being held, at both the level of ministers and heads of state. We, as the OSCE Chairman-in-Office are interested in making the contacts more frequent,” he said.
"We believe that representatives of civil societies should meet more often. Ukraine is ready to assist in this matter the parties to Karabakh conflict and provide its territory for roundtables and conferences. Ukraine also supports any effort designed to address the humanitarian consequences of the conflict, " he added. -0-
