Pashinyan: there is nothing secret in the text of Armenia-Azerbaijan peace treaty

YEREVAN, March 13. /ARKA/. To make public the text of the peace treaty between Armenia and Azerbaijan, it is necessary to study the practices, Armenian Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan said.

The Armenian Foreign Ministry confirmed today that Yerevan and Baku have finalized talks on the draft agreement on establishment of peace and interstate relations between Armenia and Azerbaijan.

It added that Armenia is ready to start consultations with Azerbaijan on the terms and place of signing the agreement.

“Negotiations on the text of the agreement have been finalized, which I consider an important event. As for the publication of the text, to tell the truth, we need to look into the practices. In this text we don't have any secrets from the public, and all the articles separately have been made public one way or another. Yes, the public has not read the text, but we cannot say that it is not familiar with it,” Pashinyan told reporters on Thursday.

He noted that the text of the peace treaty is ready for signing, “and we are ready to start discussions on the date and place of signing.”

“The Azerbaijani Foreign Ministry, as far as I know, has issued a statement on the readiness to start discussions in a bilateral format. They have their ideas, we have our ideas. It is expected that during these negotiations we will be able to bring these ideas closer,” the Prime Minister said.-0-
