Pashinyan considers Khtsaberd and Hin Tagher as first serious test for Russian peacekeepers

"They want to show that the peacekeepers are not able to stop the incitements undertaken on their part, and the fate of the Khtsaberd and Hin Tagher [villages of the Hadrut region in Artsakh - ed.] section is the first serious test of the peacekeeping mission of the Russian Federation," he said.
Nikol Pashinyan said that the Artsakh Defense Army cannot act in the same logic as Azerbaijan does.
"The Armenian side should not carry out actions that directly or indirectly can call into question the effectiveness of the peacekeepers' activities," he said in his national address.
The Armenian premier said that there were no civilians in the Khtsaberd and Hin Tagher sectors, and as a result of the actions six soldiers of the Artsakh Defense Army were injured.
"Information about other victims is being clarified, because the area where the wounded may be is currently inaccessible, and measures are being taken to ensure access there," he said.
Tension Escalation in Hadrut
On December 11, the units of Azerbaijan's army, having accumulated additional personnel and military equipment, including heavy artillery, struck in the direction of Khtsaberd and Hin Tagher villages of in Artsakh's Hadrut region in a clear breach of the requirements of the trilateral statement dated from November 9. According to the Armenian defense ministry, after the fighting, which lasted for several hours, the enemy managed to enter the village of Hin Tagher and come close to the village of Khtsaberd. He noted that the task is to fully bring the situation in this sector in line with the provisions of the joint statement of November 9, which clearly states that since the adoption of the statement, the troops remain in their positions along the line of contact.
The Russian Defense Ministry reported on Sunday that the territory of the village of Hin Takher came under the control of peacekeepers.
