Pashinyan: most important philosophical and conceptual achievement of the Artsakh liberation war is achieving unattainable
YEREVAN, May 22. /ARKA/. On May 21, Armenia's Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan and his wife Anna Hakobyan traveled to  the Republic of Artsakh to attend the inauguration ceremony of its fourth elected President Araik Harutyunyan.

Speaking later at a reception Pashinyan said that the salvation of the Armenians of Artsakh from physical destruction is considered the most important achievement of the Artsakh liberation war. 'But, in my opinion, the important philosophical and conceptual achievement is that we have achieved the unattainable," he said.

Pashinyan said another important achievement of the Artsakh liberation war is the change in 'our national thinking.”
Pashinyan congratulated the newly elected president Araik Harutyunyan on his election to this post and expressed confidence that during his presidency the cooperation between Armenia and Artsakh will become even more effective.

“Before the election, some predicted that a revolution would happen in Artsakh, others expected a counter-revolution to happen. My principle position was that Artsakh should not be a stage for either revolution or counter-revolution,” he said.

According to Pashinyan, the authorities of Artsakh and Armenia have a common and collective responsibility to implement reforms in both countries.

'People should see the changes; they should feel them in the political, economic, social, anti-corruption spheres, in the field of  human rights, in an independent judiciary, freedom of speech, justice and reliability of the electoral system. I’m sure that these changes will happen,” he said.

Pashinyan emphasized that this is not just a political statement, but a clearly formulated perception, an agreement between the leaders of Armenia and Artsakh.

"I want to emphasize, Mr. Harutyunyan, that I believe in your political will and determination to follow the path of constructive changes," Pashinyan said.

Araik Harutyunyan won in the second round of the presidential election held in Artsakh on April 14, garnering 88% of the vote. His rival, self-nominated Masis Mayilyan, won 12%. -0-
