Armenian Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan signed a decree on Friday reappointing Armen Abazyan as director of the National Security Service.

YEREVAN, January 12. /ARKA/. Armenian Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan signed a decree on Friday reappointing Armen Abazyan as director of the National Security Service.
Earlier in the day, Abazyan was dismissed by President Vahagn Khachatryan.
Late last December, the National Assembly of Armenia amended the law On Service in National Security Bodies and some other related laws, according to which the power to appoint and dismiss the head of the National Security Service and his deputies was transferred to the Prime Minister. Previously, these powers were vested in the President. -0-
